Springtime Anyone?

Here's a little something for all of you dealing with the cold and snow right now.... I'm sending you a a little promise of spring....

Look what came in the mail today - and isn't it pretty?!

Kaity and I are lucky enough to be test knitting a new sock yarn - and this has all the right stuff! It's from Hill Country Yarns and, get this, it's called Instant Gratification Sock Yarn, which means size 5-6 needles for a faster knit, 100% merino wool, hand-dyed, and, here comes my favorite part.... SUPERWASH!

Yippee! I'm setting the psycho-colored Jaywalkers aside for a few days and I'm casting on a little springtime tonight, as soon as Kaity and I duke it out as to who gets which color! At first I was sure I wanted the BlueBonnet - but now I'm kind of falling in love with the Strawberry Swirl..... decisions, decisions....

Wow, those Hill Country Yarns are beauties!! Lucky you and Kaity! ;-) How can you not love something that's called Instant Gratification sock yarn?! I'm definitely in love with the Strawberry Swirl. The name alone sounds so yummy- reminds me of those Lifesaver Lollipops that I used to love. Can't wait to see them both all knitted up! Take care, Lynda! :-)

What a fabulous name for a yarn!! I'll be checking them out for sure, as I feather to sock-knitting, but only at larger gauges. perfect!

I'm so there. Literally. In June. But this morning I had to shovel all the snow off my car. Enjoying it while it lasts, I guess ;)

Lucky you!! I like both colours...but I think the bluebonnet one is my fav. I love the name strawberry swirl better though lol.

I also wanted to let you know that I have pair number 2 of my socks done, so you can adjust my totals in the contest!

Oh, that yarn's gonna make socks that will be way too warm for your climate. You better send it on up to me! ;)

OMG. how did you get so lucky to test knit with those yarns? LOVE THEM. And size 5-6 needles for SOCKS? Unheard of.

Thanks for the yarn porn, but I think DF is going to pitch a fit when the mailman brings more yarn...

That yarn is beautiful! Looks like candy.

Is that seriously what it looks like there? Green grass and flowers? I've been sealed in by ice and snow so long, I've forgotten what the colors green and yellow look like....

That looks like dream yarn for sure. Great colors, washable, and knit in "big" needles!! What more could a girl ask for? Will you be allowed to show us the finished socks and share your thoughts? I may have to order some of that in the very near future!!!!

Oh so pretty! Must refrain from sock-yarn buying...

Our daffodils/crocusses(croci?)/springtimey bulbs are starting to come up here in Portland as well. LOVE IT! Of course, it won't stop raining here for 3 more months...but that's why it's so dang pretty during the summer, right?
