Summer Knitting

Not so much fun today.

It's 114 degrees outside. Oy Every time I look at the thermometer, it's hotter.

All I want to do is sit, and sweat. And I've even got the air-conditioning cranked. Hot. And Sticky. Ugh.
I need a pool. I need a friend with a pool. I at least need to run through the sprinklers. I need to not be afraid to be seen in a bathing suit. I'm that desperate to cool down.

Not knitting weather.

The irony of it is..... I've got lots of free time today. Lots of free knitting time. It doesn't come in "chunks" like this often. I really don't want to waste it. I'm that close to finishing Icarus.

The picture of me in the backyard? I took that a couple of days ago, when it had finally cooled off enough to go outside. 7:30 or so in the evening.... sneaking in a half hour of knitting time with a nice glass of iced tea with a little bit of Limoncello added for kick.

Mmmmm.

Think I'll make a glass right now, with LOTS of ice - plop on the couch and see if I muster up some knitting strength.

Oy- did I mention it's hot?

fwew, hot here too, image that!

We have the A/C cranked too..and I'm thinking about going out and loitering in the hot tub just so I can get out and be wet!!

Sending you cooling thoughts...

I know what you mean! (although I think it's hotter where you are) I can't even muster up the strength to knit in my air conditioned house!

It's cooled off in Indiana, but the mosquito population has exploded. They seem to be hunting in packs too. Can't wait to see Icarus.

Ouch! It was only 92 here today and the AC seems to be keeping up okay. I hope you get to knit soon. It's aggrevating to be so close to finishing and not be able to knit.

It's hot here too! And we're just not prepared for that. I mean, we know it gets cold. We can do the cold. But heat! Oh boy.... It wasn't 112 (thank goodness) but 100 degrees is waaaay hotter than we're used to. Too hot to knit--that's just so wrong.

I feel your heat, or should I say your pain. We had a cool down today, about 10 degrees cooler than the 90+ degrees of the last few weeks. Cheers to cooler weather soon!

You have ALL my sympathy!!!! It has been nice and cool here (as soon as we got our A/C fixed, of course), but I was so miserable during those few terribly hot days. There really is NO WAY to work up ambition when it's that hot. I'll try to send you some of our cooling thunderstorms.

Youch - that's dangerously hot. Very hard to knit in that weather! I was running errands yesterday, some in Burbank, and I thought it seemed especially hot. I just checked - high yesterday in Burbank - 112, a record. Whew.

Sitting outside in the late evening with iced tea sounds divine!

It's super hot up here too. Yesterday it got up to 108 and our power went out for 15 hours. Fun...

Yesterday we were with the grandkids in 112 degree weather, so I feel your pain.

By the way, they do have a pool & it was 100 degrees IN the pool. Although, that was 12 degrees cooler than outside, so that was fine...until the thunder & lighting started & it was "everyone out of the pool!" BUMMER!

Yowza. I don't think I've ever been anywhere that hot! I'm afraid I would spontaneously combust...

And I thought it was hot here! Shows what a big difference having the ocean nearby makes in the temperature. Still, I'm looking forward to the A/C at work tomorrow. :)

we broke 100 several times this past week - not that different than anywhere else, until you realize it's CANADA! sheesh. stay cool...

Oh I hate knitting when my hands are sticky. Fortunately my hsuband keeps the house like an ice locker so that rarely happens.

I'm sorry it's so hot there! You can come here and cool off anytime!

I'm really looking forward to your finished Icarus. It's going to be beautiful. I also love how your Ipod matches. ;)

It's too hot here to knit too, though not quite that bad, it's only 92. Hmmmm, iced tea with limoncello? Sounds divine. I'm off to see if we have any of the latter; I made a big pitcher of sun tea this morning.

I am glad it finally cooled off around here, down to 86 degrees. You almost there with the shawl, YAY!

Hi! Yes, the hot can go away now. Really. Portland is NOT supposed to reach 108. Seriously. What is going on?!

Your shawl is beautiful. Good for you plugging away. I'm so knitting-bored right now...as evidenced in my nearly non-existent blog. So I'm glad others are still knitting. :O)

How do you like the new Piper book? (of course you love it...is there anything not to love about anything John Piper writes?? Why do I ask dumb questions...?)

Just mostly wanted to say hi. HI!

The knitting looks awesome too.. just my colors *grin*
