Getting Away From It All
This weekend the hubby and I took off, just the two of us, for a weekend away...
Dinner at F. McLintocks - $$$
Sleeping on the sand at Pismo Beach - $10
Leisurely walk around Morro Bay on an unusually clear, warm, and gorgeous day - free
A beautiful cabin with fireplace at Cambria Pines Lodge - $$
Shopping at the Ball & Skein in Cambria, where the hubby says "take your time," but then makes sure he walks back in just in time to say "I'm buying!" - $$$
Spending the weekend with the hubby you still can't get enough of after 25 years, and even having him say "yell if you see a yarn store and want to stop" .... PRICELESS

In college I lived across the bay from Morro Bay (in Los Osos). In Morro Bay there is a gift shop that has an aquarium behind it with rescued sea lions and you can buy fish and feed them. Did you go to McLintocks in Avila? (there's one in Arroyo Grande too). There's also a yarn shop in Nipomo (which you drove past between Santa Maria and Pismo Beach). Glad you had fun, the yarn is gorgeous!!
Oh I should mention that I didn't just go to college there, I grew up next to Pismo Beach.
Awwwww....Congrats to both of you! Sounds like the perfect weekend.

awww!! Sounds like a great time : )
What a great trip. I love reading your posts and then reading your daughter's POV (and gifts) on her blog!
You should post a pic of hubby holding your shopping bags full of yarn purchases ;o) Bet he'd love to do that for ya! Sounds like you've got a wonderful guy there!
I'm glad you had such a nice weekend! I think we stayed at that same lodge for our Women's Retreat back in April and I know I visited the same yarn store. (Funny the things we remember... I'm sure of the yarn store but uncertain about the hotel we spent the whole weekend in.
I was just thinking about you... I hope you're not too close to the fire.
What fun! I'm glad you had a weekend away. Your pictures are great. What is the large "bump" in the second picture? Is it a mountain of sand?
What a wonderful weekend!!
That sounds (and looks) absolutely wonderful!
What a lovely weekend you guys had! What a keeper too, with the yarn shopping.
What a blessing your husband is to you! A marriage centered on the Lord is as good as it gets!!!
Oooooh!(super whiney voice) That is just so damn sweet I can't stand it.
Glad you had a super swell weekend together, and congratulations to you both! You two deserve that great getaway, and wowee! Nice pictures.
Love the yarn! (I feel more jealous whining coming along....)
lucky you. a husband whom you still love to be with, and all that great yarn too! :)
Can't wait for my kids to be old enough to be home by themselves so that I can get away with the husband too. Love the photo of the yarn loot.
LOVE IS .. sharing your life with a man that not only understands you, but gives into your fiber needs!
Thanks for sharing a little bit of your trip -- looks like it was a great time you had together.
That's some man you've got there. With some love and work I hope that is The Greatest and I in 16 more years.
Looks like a wonderful weekend!
Awwwww, now isn't he a real keeper!
Sounds like a real "you deserve it, enjoy it" weekend!
What a great mini-vacation!
"Yell if you see a yarn store and want to stop??" Does he have a brother?
Just you and HeWhoWearsTevas back where it all started. He's a keeper and you're not so bad yourself. We love you.
What a wonderful weekend that you had!
Sun, cabin, yarn store, hubby, no kids around - what more does a girl need!!
It looks beautiful there.
I bet that you are feeling warm and fuzzy and refreshed today.
Great yarn picks - can't wait to hear what they will turn into.
What a great weekend! And the Mountain Colors colorway is beautiful.
Sounds wonderful!! My parents stay at Cambria Pines Lodge all the time!
Yep, PRICELESS! That's for sure. I would have fallen out of the car right then and there!
I just came to your web site from http://mitstitchingnut.blogspot.com/ and what do I see but photos of my hometown, Morro Bay? Too cool you were here. But I'd love it if Cherice said where the Nipomo yarn shop is - I know where Eileen's Treasures in Pismo Beach is, and where Yarnology in Arroyo Grande is, and I know the quilt shop in Nipomo, but not the yarn shop!
