I Love 'Em.... I Love 'Em Not

Really, these could seriously be the ugliest socks in history.... or the coolest. I totally can't decide if they're just butt ugly, or really cool.

Most people in my house are voting "ugly." However, they all know I'll wear them - a lot. And, they'll complain everytime. So what...

So, you know, the old photo shoot - but this time I've got Kaity to help me. Yeah, I need that kind of help. See this lovely picture by the birch tree.... this was after a try for a picture by the front door ceramic lizards.... Me, lying on the front porch, keeping one eye peeled for the neighbors, because I look like a major dork.... lying on my back with my feet in the air, like a stuck turtle.

So, I'm afraid she's gonna ditch me and leave me lying on the porch, perhaps even locking me out (oh, YES she would) - but I have the birch tree shoot in mind so I say, "hey, wait, I still need you." And she says, "Why, to help you up?"

Thanks. I may be old and not very graceful, and own the ugliest handknit socks in existence, but I can still get up off the ground.

I guess I'll know that's when to quit.

The things I do for you people...

Jaywalkers
Trekking XXL, colorway 105, one ball
Size 2 DPN

I think they are fabulous! They better be, because way back when, I bought some of that yarn because of you.
Great pictures! You crack me up Lynda!

Love them socks.

They are wonderful!! Trekking Jaywalker gloriousness. Bonus that your family doesn't like them - socks will not thus be stolen from you. :)

I like 'em! All over the world, there are people wondering why their neighbors are taking pictures of their feet. Or why they are laying sweater pieces on the picnic table and then standing on the picnic table to take aerial shots. Why are these strange occurences happening? We know!

Great pics!

I think they are really cool - why would you even consider ugly?

Another vote for pretty!! And the fact that you can bug your family by wearing them makes them even prettier - LOL. I have to admit, Katie reminds me a lot of me talking to my mom. I'm sure she's just a smart-alek like me - she doesn't really think you're too old to get up!!

My grandfather was a general practioner and often delivered babies. He had a standard comment about each baby he delivered:"Now that's a baby!" He couldn't get into trouble that way. The mom could interpret that comment however she wished.

"Now that's a pair of socks!"

Awesome socks. Don't listen to "those people". I have 5 of those people in my house, and they make fun of my socks too. To get even with them, I bought clear clogs and I wear the socks and clogs in public to humiliate them. Ha!!!!!

LOL Maria - I am wearing them with my blue Crocs today - which has already gotten me plenty of grief from the peanut gallery!

Oh I love the photo of you with feet up the wall. Only question is why was Katie focussing only on you and not the socks? And I also quickly take outdoor photos early on weekend mornings when not that many people are up yet because it defies explanation as to why I am standing next to the dustbin for a photo :) Those are interesting trekking socks!

You're not so old, and I think those are cool socks. I vote that you wear them with sandals.

And in Colorado the laws are pretty much the same as in California (I was raised on the Central Coast of CA). I have a hunch that this guy is going to try to be one of the few exceptions to the person who rearends someone being guilty. I just hate the stress that this has generated in my life, but am beyond grateful that my daughter and I are okay (physically, I'm having stress issues). I miss my car.

crazy girl! those are AWESOME SOCKS! unless it has fun fur, i am a knitter that knows no ugly! (and i know now that i typed that, it will come back to haunt me so let's just NOT quote me on that later okay?)
you can always deny making socks for anyone else until they accept your socks :) then kaity will have to do all the sock-knitting for everyone else and you can just relish in making pair after pair for yourself!!! hahah!!!
seriously, those are some cool socks. now you need those clear clogs to wear with them and you're all set :)

Donna

p.s. we are accostomed to seeing those fair legs in our neck of the wood...yours however are hairless, which I think makes them look even whiter !!!!

I knit my Jaywalkers out of Trekking 109, and I think it is a GREAT pattern for the socks. I am in love with yours! I think they are SO beautiful. I agree with everyone else - no one should call them ugly!

I'm so glad you didn't end up stuck there like a turtle, locked out of the house.
