You'll Pay For It Later

I seriously need to get to a copy machine get a fresh set of cable patterns!

What ever part of your brain you need for chart reading and memorization - mine is obviously damaged. I've already blamed my math deficiencies on being dropped on my head as a baby.... I'm blaming my lame chart-reading skills on those three concussions when I was 19 and 20.

Car accident, gymnastics accident, motorcycle accident. Let's just say - if you want to be a pro chart-reader later in life and excel in cable knitting... don't fall asleep at the wheel, don't go head first into a vaulting horse, and stay on your dirt bike.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Cable trouble or not, the shawl is looking great!

Well. What's it say about me then, that I haven't had any accidents or blows to the head, and I still can't read cable or lace charts without my eyes glazing over with a wee bit o' drool?
Don't worry Lynda, we all have issues with the charts, I think.

Man, but those accidents sound rough!

Shawl's looking fab, btw. Speaks "fall" to me. :)

The wrap has such lovely and complicated cables, no wonder it's a challenge. But they look great, so hang in there. Just remember to look at you wrap every few rows to make sure you've got it right.

Oh my goodness . . . three concussions??? And dropped on your head. Who knew? Well, in any case, I think your lace and cables are coming along great. And hey, charts are still much better than trying to read and remember written out instructions.

K20, YO, p5, k2tog . . huh??

Poor Pvm...you put her right into the oleanders, didn'tcha? Scary stuff.

Glad you survived sufficiently intact to be able to cable, with whatever aids are required. Purty stuff!

Wow! It sounds like your 19th and 20th years were painful!

Yikes! That is georgous! I don't know about your theory, though. I kicked butt in high school and college math, but I still can't finish my little Karoeke scarf without have to to back and rip out a few rows every now and then. Cables are hard!! You're showing some awesome math and logic skills there, or some other skill I don't possess.

My sister's friend went flying OVER the vault in gymnastics...not fun to watch. You had all those accidents in 2 years? Wow.

Your shawl is going to be so cozy! Your poor head! Have you considered a helmet? ;o)

Hmm, those sound like some good rule of thumbs for life. I blame mine on a game my sister and brother taught me, "bump head". Ouch.

I blame my lack of math skills on an overly developed right brain that - there is simply no room in there for that left brain, logical stuff. Your work looks gorgeous and you are giving me the inspiration to step out and try lace & more cables!

I've got the same chart problems with no accidents, so I think that some people just have issues with charts.

Um... I think I've got the same problem.. but for a slightly different reason ::laughing::

Love the cables.. (I know, I know.. we'll be seeing a lot more of them ::laughing::)
